A California Native, Pilar came to the Bay area to attend UC Berkeley.  Her interests then and now include biology, the environment, art, culture and making the world a better and more beautiful place. Her floral design and her business, Gorgeous and Green, were born out of a desire to be creative and sustainable in the same breath. From the start, her design and business ethos has supported local growers and artisans, recycled and recyclable products and sustainable methods.  She has never used floral foam, sprays or chemicals in her design. She has taught thousands of people interested in sustainable flower design via online and in-person workshops, local garden clubs, the Slow Flowers Summit and multiple SF Flower and Garden Shows.
