Ronni Brega

Ronni Brega has been a member of the Hillside Gardeners of Montclair for over 20 years, a docent at the UC Berkeley Botanical Garden for over 20 years, and Past President of the Alameda County Beekeepers Association.  She has been a beekeeper for 8 years in the Oakland hills, near Joaquin Miller Park.  She speaks to garden clubs and community groups about honey bees, native bees and pollinator gardens.  Her presentation on Sunday will be “Gardening for Bees” where she will talk about the lifecycle of common Bay Area bees; how to tell the difference between bees, wasps and yellowjackets; popular forage plants and where to get them; and how to avoid using hazardous chemicals on your garden.
